Building Partnership

In 1973, brothers-in-law Lawrie Dorè and Greg Jenkins went into business in Brisbane as builders under the name DJ Builders. They only had $1700 in capital but off that base they built DJ Builders into one of Brisbane’s and South East Queensland’s most successful builders and construction companies.

Residential, Industrial and Commercial Building

The business initially concentrated on residential homes but over time moved into building industrial and commercial buildings along with townhouses and units in Brisbane and South East Queensland. In addition to the many commercial buildings, townhouse and units, DJ Builders have built over 3500 houses.

DJ Builders and Son

Things move on though and in 2002, after nearly 30 years of a successful partnership Greg Jenkins retired and Lawrie Dorè took over the company as the sole owner. Matthew, Lawrie’s son had an interest in building from a young age. He qualified as a carpenter and builder, just like his dad, and in 2006 Lawrie and Matthew formed DJ Builders and Son to look after the residential house market. Lawrie still retains ownership of DJ Builders which now concentrates on building industrial, commercial and retail buildings, as well as townhouses and units.

The Personal Touch

DJ Builders and Son retain the family touch. You’ll get to know Matthew or Lawrie, people who are involved in their business.
